TGIFF – Thank Goodness It’s Finished Friday! #2

Ich endlich mal wieder! Lebst du noch, bist du noch da?

I’m here! Are you?

Wie geht es so, in diesen eigenartigen Zeiten? Bei mir ist es ein Auf und Ab der Gefühle. Mal bin ich fröhlich, dass der Arbeitsweg wegfällt und meine Liebsten jetzt jeden Mittag meine „Kantinenpartner“ sind. Mal piept es mich alles einfach nur an.

How are you in these strange times? For me it’s up and down. Sometimes I’m super happy to not have to commute and to have my darlings as lunch partner every day. Sometimes I’m just fed up with it all.

So richtig Lust zum Schreiben war irgendwie nicht. Daher auch nicht wundern, wenn es heute nicht besonders lang wird. Ich habe hier bestimmt 3 fertige Blogartikel rumliegen, aber keine Lust auf den Feinschliff.

Of course, my writing muse was more fed up, too , than not. So don’t be surprised if this will be to the point and short. I have about 3 other articles about things I want to tell you, but no real motivation to give them that final polish.

Aber TGIFF konnte ich natürlich nicht absagen und freue mich schon auf eure Werke unten in den Links! (Was TGIFF und auch ein UFO sind, hatte ich hier schon mal erklärt.)

But of course I couldn’t let the TGIFF down and am already excited to see your links below! (I explained here what TGIFF and an UFO are all about!)

Und ich bin echt glücklich, so ein Hobby zu haben, was man gut von zuhause machen kann. Einfach mal nur ein paar Stunden in den Stoffresten abtauchen und über nix anderes nachdenken tut doch gut.

And I’m really happy about this hobby of mine, that I can do from home. Simply dive into fabric heaven for some hours every day and not think about the world outside.

Und so ein paar freie Extrastunden ermöglichen ja dann doch ab und zu das Beenden eines Ufo’s. Zumindest habe ich mir das irgendwie vorgenommen. Das klappt dann immer bis zum nächsten Projekt, was ich sehe. Und es gibt ja auch so viele nette Sew alongs, die man mitmachen will/kann/muss.

And these little free hours (no commute, no birthday’s to go to) permit to finish some UFO’s, right? At least, that was the plan. That goes as well as one might think until the next exciting project comes along. And all these sweet sew alongs that I can rarely resist.

Ihr seht schon, ich werde noch eine Weile TGIFF mitmachen können, die UFO’s werden nicht ausgehen.

Suffice to say, I won’t be out of UFO’s anytime soon and will therefore be able to participate to TGIFF some more.

The Fancy Dance Quilt by Stacy Olson Design, sewed with Amy Sinibaldi Playground and Art Gallery denim.

Es ist nicht mein 1 Quilt. Und es ist auch nicht mein bis jetzt schwierigster, denn man näht nur kleine Quadrate und ein paar Rechtecke aneinander, dazwischen ein Sashing, fertig.

It’s not my first quilt. And it’s not even one of the more complicated I did: some squares, rectangles and a little sashing and you are done.

Aber so als Ufo kann er echt gut mithalten.

But it sure qualifies as an UFO.

Umzug (so als Ausreden-Meilenstein, warum dann ein gutes Jahr wieder nix passiert ist).

We moved (total milestone excuse to explain why nothing happened for more than a year).

Quilttop basteln: Januar 2019 (und dazwischen schon wieder neue Serien von Amy Sinibaldi vernähen … )
